Dear Tag2find support,
It's exciting for me to find your software. That's exactly what I want, the one perfectly solves my problem of file management and searching!
As a green hand, I do not quite understand the function of expport/import. It says, "before importing your tags you have to restore your files to the same location". I'm quite puzzled about this. Say, I got three disks and there are tons of files with tags in them, the process of reinstallation is 1) copy all files with tags, 2) export tags, 3) reinstall system, 4) restore all files with tags into the same disk, 5) import tags. Is that correct? But how about I couldn't find a disk to restore all the tagged fiels from three disks? And, it's not very convenient to copy them into the same place because i still need them to go back and show in their original path (different disks and different folders). With tags, it's much easier to manage and search files, but different folders are still needed because folder and tag are different dimensions which make the best function when using together.
I'll need to reinstall system recently, so will you pls kindly help to answer my question so that i can get to know how to do it efficiently.
Thank you so much!

Hi,

unfortunately, at the moment the export is no more than a file containing the absolute path of the file and the attached tags for this file. To attach the tags back to the files, the absolute path needs to match, unfortunately.

What you can do, however, is to copy all files to an external HDD with NTFS (!), safe the database and be sure to have the disk as the same drive letter as before. An explicit backup is still highly recommended!!!

Sorry for the inconvenience, this is unfortunately one of the many problems of the current "Technical Preview" version.

Best regards,
Martin
