Hi guys,

Looks like a fantastic program - will be better once it exits the beta stage!
I'm running Windows Professional x64 SP2 with .NET runtime 2 installed and receive a common x64 error for us x64ers:

Service failed to start.

(http://img365.imageshack.us/img365/7287/tag2findservicewc3.th.jpg) (http://img365.imageshack.us/my.php?image=tag2findservicewc3.jpg)

I know the beta says 32bit in the filename - have attached a screenshot for your reference.

Thanks for taking the time to read this,

-Damo

Hi Damo,

thanks for your feedback. We are unfortunately aware that our service won't run on x64 at the moment. The reasons is we are also using some DLLs containing native 32bit code at the moment.

We will address this issue shortly, as we have no x64 machines at the moment for development but they are already ordered.

Thanks for your patience!

Best regards,
Martin

PS: to ensure x64 will be addressed shortly, I'll force myself to work on one of those machines, so we need to get it running Wink

Thanks Martin,

Sounds like a bit of a headache with so many variants of Windows around these days: Vista 32-bit & 64-bit, 32-bit XP, XP x64, MCE 2005 and that's not even mentioning Intel XP 64-bit code! (IA64)

Best of luck with tag2find - I'll check in every now and then to see how things are progressing. Smiley

Best Regards,

Damo.

Hi Damo,

you are right, it's not that easy. In principal, when developing in Microsoft .NET you should be freed of these worries, as pure .NET code will (should?) run on every supported plattform. Unfortunately .NET does not cover everything a Developer needs so we have to resort to native code here and then... And that's where the headache starts Wink

Best regards,
Martin
