I have hundreds of PDF-files that I wanted to organize. I tried to use Acrobat Organizer supplied with Acrobat Professional but it offered limited functionality and was very slow. tag2find is a very elegant – simple yet powerful – solution for my problem. Really excellent!

I have just installed it. First thing that I would change is the confirmation for tagging (i.e. screen the question: are you sure you want to add the following tag to the selected tag? Yes / no). It would be great to have an option to turn off this confirmation or even to eliminate the confirmation step entirely.

Regards,
Amer

Hi,

thanks for your encouraging feedback & for your suggestions. Once we manage to get the open-source version out, we hope development speed to increase once again. We are unfortunately very busy at the moment and I personally am a little bit frustrated by the fact that things with tag2find take me so long. Sorry for that!

Best regards,
Martin

I also just learned of this program and have started using it.  Although it is merely a tech preview, it still functions better than many apps out there that are v1.0 and beyond.

I hope earnestly that you'll be able to transition to open  source.  If that can't happen, I do think you have a market out there where lots of folks would be willing to pay $30 for your current program, almost as is.  Really.   I'd be happy to pay for software that saves me time, instead of letting it die on the vine because the proper incentives aren't there.

While I'm giving my 2 cents, I do think that integration into a standalone file explorer would be a nice idea.  Imagine dragging and dropping a *.msg from outlook into this tag2find explorer, which automatically renames the message according to some template (xyplorer does this) and at the same time, adds tags by sender, etc.

Even if a full integration into an explorer is too much, it would be brilliant to combine the features of a program I just located called Everything (voidtools.com), which allows you to search filenames of all files on your hard drive instantly.  It is so remarkably fast that it alters the idea of how one might use file names and search.

Thanks for listening.  And again, please don't let this great app die on the vine.  You have a great product, and I'd be happy to pay for it as is.... with the hopes that it could nudge things along.
