When I create, save and tag a file (e.g. a Powerpoint file) and then reopen and change it, the notifier pops up with the changed file to have it tagged again. The previously assigned tags were deleted.
This nasty behaviour forces me to re-tag each file whenever it was updated. This obliterates the otherwise userful tool.

Hi,

thanks for the bug report. We had this issue with some versions of Office and believed it fixed. Which version of Microsoft Office are you using?

Best regards,
Martin

Hi Martin
I have installed tag2find on  my company's laptop which ist currently running under WinXP an the very, very outdated Office 97 (which will be replaced by Office 07 next year ...).
I'm going to test tag2find now on my private laptop with Office 07 to see whether the notification works there. I'll let you know whether it's better there.
tag2find is an interesting tool for "knowledge workers" like me having has thousands of files on my disk and leaves me with the problem to find the appropriate files in time. But it has, as far as I  can see, has some deficiencies as well:
At first installation I needed taggig a large amout of files. I can have them tagged by the names of the directory in their path initially. This is a nice feature but it's not not extremely useful, because it doesn't add additional value. I know my filesystem and having all files tagged by the directory names therefore doesn't give me an additional way to retrieve files...
The dialogue to update/change tags should be largely improved making it possible to retag all my files in really a efficient manner.

Regards
Stephan

Hi,

thanks for the update... I never had the possibility to test with Office 97 yet. I will have a look.

Best regards,
Martin
