just started testing the software, here is what i would like to see:

simple things:
1) tabs would be great for search results. also the ability to save searches in a tab. even better would be if the saved searches auto-refreshed. but at least tabs seem essential. who searches for just one thing at a time these days?
2) sometimes repetitive tasks in the browser seem a bit clumsy (too many clicks). having hotkeys for things like 'edit tags' and other basic functions would improve this.
3) the 'details' view in the browser is not small enough. there must be some way to condense the info and make it more readable.
4) the system-wide hotkeys can't use the windows key? why not have an option for this, or even one to replace the default windows win-f search?

more involved, but would be great:
5) hierarchical tagging: why not allow for some distinction between tags? it could be based on file extension with preset types. just like with id3 tags on music files, except user-modifiable categories. like maybe i want text documents to have 'author', 'title', 'date', 'publisher' and 'language' tags? this would make for more precise searches, but also enable the next request--
6) automatic renaming of files based on tag info. just like in any decent mp3 tagging software. but now for all file types! if you allowed user-definable strings utilizing tag categories, this would work wonderfully. using the example from the last request, you could rename a set of pdfs with the format "(language) author. [date] 'title' (publisher).pdf" or whatever.
7) final request-- if you were able to integrate tag2find with directory opus (the best file manager) it would be absolutely huge. the one feature they are majorly lacking, imo, is exactly what tag2find offers.

Hi,

thanks for your great amount of suggestions! I really like those.

At the moment, we are working on providing an open-source version of tag2find in order to speed up development. Maybe some of your feature requests can be added then.

Best regards,
Martin

I totally agree with you. Save search and tabbed interface would be great. I was to start a new topic but I found exactly what I was to say.

Anyway, thanks for great tag2find!
