Hi,

I have recently tried out tag2find and I am pleased with it. Thanks.

Is there a possibility to change the location of the database used by tag2find?

I probably could export my current tags, uninstall tag2find, reinstall with a different
location, and reimport... I'd prefer to avoid that route, however. Any chance?

Thanks................Stefan.......................

Hi,

yes, you can move the database. You have to stop the service, copy the database to its new location, use the Configuration Utility from the Start-menu entry to specify the new path and re-start the service. This should work.

Best regards,
Martin

 Thanks, Martin, for your reply.

I tried to follow your suggestion. It does not seem to work - when I
try to copy .db to a different location after stopping the program, I am being
told that it is not possible since some of the files are being used.

Looking at my Start Menu, however, I probably have a corrupt
installation as it only shows the uninstall option for tag2find, and no
 configuration utility...

 Probably need to reinstall.

By the way, is `stopping the service' differerent  from stopping the program'?

 Thanks...................Stefan.........

Hi,

yes, you are right, stopping the service can be done from the Service Management Snapin, not from within the program. Use "Start -> Run" and type in "services.msc". The Services MMC snapin will open. Search for tag2find and stop it.

Then you should be able to move the files.

If you are missing the shortcut in the start-menu, you can browse for your installation-folder and run T2FConfigWizard.exe manually.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Martin
