besides adding tags, it would be VERY useful for me if the filenames were indexed so that when i'm searching for a file by tag, i can also type in a portion of the filename and all matching files pop up.  i know G-desktop and others already have this but they also have a lot of other stuff which i don't need and hog resources.

what do you think martin?

This should be able to be implemented. As you may have read on our blog today, development is likely going to change from closed to open source, so I suppose it can be easily contributed then. As a personal note, yes, I could use this myself Smiley

Best regards,
Martin

Any news on this feature request?  It's been over a year....

This would really make tag2find the ultimate accessory program... if it could extract tags from filenames...
thereby
"this is the name_of my-file.doc"
would be automatically tagged with "this", "is", "the", "name", "of", "my" and file"
(or if it was super intelligent it would identify the main words (i.e. "name", "file") and not bother with "the", "of", "is", etc....

PLEASE, add this feature and it will make it SO much easier to find any file, instantly!!
