Hi Martin,

I've used tag2find for more than one month and recently I found a new issue. Even I configure tag2find to auto-discover directory on primary disk D: only, it prevent removing removable disks by the safely removing of Windows. Once I stop tag2find service, it's resolved.
I think you may already notice it, and it will be fixed in the future releases...

Hi,

thanks for your report. This is a known problem and only occurs if you have an NTFS formatted external drive (if it happens on a FAT/FAT32 volume, could you please tell me, because then it would be another issue). The problem is not the "Watched Folders", but it is the file tracking algorithm.

We will try to add a workaround for the issue at hand (e.g. providing an option to suspsend file tracking for a minute, which should be enough to remove the hardware).

Best regards,
Martin

Hi Martin,

Thanks for your reply, merry X'mas!
Due to a similar problem found recently, I'm afraid this solution is not sufficient.
I'm working on IC design and always compile the "Hardware Description Language" to "library" which contains a lot of directories. What I'm facing is, during compiling, some files are locked by tag2find and compiler cannot continue, so the compilation is stuck... I have to stop tag2find service to resolve this.
Is there any workaround for it?

Hi,

thanks for your reply. Hmm, the issue you mention seems to be a classical race-condition regarding file-system access. I will look into this after the holidays.

Best regards,
Martin
