The first time I thought I had done something wrong. So I wiped out all of my tags and started over. Now I see it wasn't me! Argh!
I have my computer configured such that all of my files are on C: and then I periodically back them up to an external drive on E: by simply copying them over. When I go through the "Add Files from Directories" link and select, say, "c:\Data" and then tag a bunch of files, and then save those tags, and then go back in to tag browser, it shows my files and my tags, but the details of each file show that it's pointing to my E drive! How can that be? I was very careful to select the folder from the C drive. More importantly, how can I fix this without re-typing all my tags for the third time?
If there was a way to do so, I would exclude E from tag2find altogether, but I don't see anywhere in the settings for that either, adding it to Tools|Options|Notifications|Excluded Folders didn't help. I didn't really think it would, but I had to try.

Hi,
thanks for the bug report. I could not get the image URLs to work, but I can imagine what happened. We will look into this as soon as possible.
Just one quick idea: is it possible you mounted E: as a reparse-point in C:\data?
Another point: are you sure you are not just seeing the copied files on E: together with the files on C:? When you copy somehting from C: to E:, you should see both files, because the tags are recognized and added to tag2find's database. Maybe you could try this out with a special tag on a test file?
I agree that it would make sense to exclude results from a given drive from the search result. I have submitted a feature request for this.
Best regards, Martin

Ok, the plot thickens.
As an experiment, I removed the drive letter for my backup drive, obviously not a permanent solution since I need to be able to access the drive, but the tag browser then found the files on the C drive.
In response to your questions, I haven't made any backups since I installed tag2find, so the files were already on the E drive separately and therefore did not have any tags on them. Also, I fixed the files on the server so they should be accessible now, sorry about that.
E: is definitely not configured as a reparse point, unless some other application or utility did that without my knowledge. The only path it had in disk management | "change drive letter and paths" was E:, no folder paths on C: or anywhere else for that matter. Is it possible there might be a reparse point somewhere else? How would I find it?

Hmm, thank you very much for your follow-up. If its not mapped under the drive letters, this cannot be the issue.
I will continue looking into the issue and trying to reproduce this bug myself. I confess, I can not tell you how long this will take. I will do my best!

If there's anything I can do to help, such as sending in logs or running a version that produces logs if this one does not, let me know! tf at wanderr dot com
Thanks.
