Hello,
I'm wondering if there's a way to exclude certain file types from being tagged. (I can see that it's possible to exclude folders, but I don't see where you can exclude files from the general tagging.)
Thank you very much!

Hi,

sorry, I do not fully understand. If you do not want a file to be tagged, don't tag it ;-) Ah! I got an idea: are you referring to the initial tag wizard? Hmm, yes, in this case you are right. I will submit an according request to our bug tracker.

Best regards,
Martin

Thanks for your answer, Martin.

Yes, I'm referring to the tag wizard, but also, and mostly, to the "tagging notification" popup box. I don't understand why the popup would appear for any (and all) files modified or added if their file extension doesn't appear in the tag2find Option-->Notification-->extension.

But maybe am I not doing something properly?

Thanks!

Hi,

this should not happen. I will investigate this bug tomorrow morning once I am in the office.

Thanks for the bug report!

Martin,

The popup behaviour seems to have stopped happening. It did popup for some "unwanted" file extensions (*.enb) right after the first scan, but didn't do it since. I have no idea what happened.

Of course, it would still be nice to be able to exclude the files during the initial tag "wizard" moment...  Smiley Maybe an "advanced" option?

Regards,

M.

Hi,

thanks for your followup. We will still look into the issue, as we noticed some strange behavior there...

Regarding the wizard "advanced" option, I opened a feature request, I hope it will be implemented soon.

Best regards,
Martin

Hi,

I've just finished adding an additional wizard page to the initial tagging wizard. Now it is possible to select extensions you want to use during importing and initial tagging of your files. It will be available with the next release, which we intend to release before end of June.

Best regards,
Krispin

I'm running ver 0.10.2.5 and, when monitoring a directory, files not listed in the extension list are shown in the file monitor popup.
