Backup

Hi,
I am using tag2find and find it very useful. However, I want to know whether there is a backup approach using which I can recover my tag2find relative database if I re-install my operating system.

Hi,

the current version does not yet support backup / restore, this will be featured shortly in an upcoming release.

You can work around by backing up the system database stored in the location specified in the Configuration Wizard (default C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\tag2find) and can use the "Check database for files" after re-installation. This, though, requires, that the volume ids do not change and that the files are on the same location as before the re-installation.

We are sorry for the inconvenience, we will try to add this functionality as soon as possible.

Just to also inform you in this thread, our new version 0.10 supports export / import of tags to XML files.
