Improved export and import

I found the export and import feature for tags but as I understand it, it is now usefull only for reinstalling the computer. The tagged files have to be backed up separately and then also restored to the location originally used for them.
Would it be possible to add a feature that would not import the tags based on locations of files, but rather based on CRC of files? When importing, tag2find would have to search the desktop for files with the same CRC and if found the file would get the respective tags.
This would allow for exchange of the tags among users of tag2find. For example, my colleague could have a subset of the files which I also have on my desktop. I would send him my exported tags, he would import them and his files which we have in common would have my tags added to them.
Thanks, Posa

Hi,
Nice, I know what you mean, I think its application for sharing files would be too difficult. We are working on a network enabled version which will allow live search and shared tags among workgroups. I think this will be more appropriate for most end-users than sharing checksums.
I still like the idea for an improved backup, where you are not required to have the files on the same location when restoring.
Thanks again for your input, we highly appreciate it!
Best regards,
Martin
