Hi,
I know that when you initially scan for docs, tags are generated based on the file path...
But here is my thought.
What if a second class of tags are created, lets call them location tags.
They can only be attached to directories/folders. The location tags are user defined, and not based only on file path.

Then a user option is added to set up to allow the user to have location based tagging enabled.
Thus when I add a new file to a folder, these location based tags are added, and if I move the file to a new directory, the tags are changed to reflect the new location?
This does not stop the user adding the currently existing tags, and it allows the user to tag similar folders witht he same tag.
but if a file is moved, added or copied some of the tagging is done automatically.

This grew out of having to tag new files witha string of similar tags for files in the same folder.... and missing some out in the process.
What do you think?

To be honest, I just think: great idea. I really like it! I will propose it at our tomorrow's status meeting, and I'm quite sure I'll find more than one supporter for your idea there ;-)

Best regards,
Martin

Great idea, it's better if you do a reverse of this. Based on tags, create and organize the files in a directory structure,
of tag more used until “tag” less used.

Sorry for my english
