Situation,
Folder with files in that have been tagged
Files originally came from a CD

Action
Copy files over, from CD to HDD.

Bug
No new file notification,  But the tags are missing from the file, when right click and select edit tags.

Hi,

just to verify my understanding: you tagged a file, burned it to CD-ROM and copied it back to HDD? In this case, there is no way of preserving the tags at the moment except exporting the database and burn it together with the files.

The issue that there is no new file notification is indeed a bug. You were overwriting an existing tagged file?

Best regards,
Martin

No it happened the other way round.
I had a file on a CDrom
Copied that to the HDD
Tagged file.
Then Copied over the file, with the original un-tagged file.
No new file popup and no tags retained.  My expectation would be either the tags move accross, or the file is treated as a new file (and I think the Latter is the better way to go.

Hi,

this is the way it should work (it does here)... This issue is caused by the not-working file-tracking for your PC.

Best regards,
Martin

I think that this might give some clues...
My virus log throws up these two lines around T2F

Hi lyle,

thanks for the feedback, this could very indeed be an issue, as our service might keep trying to access the files in order to check if they are tagged. If they are indeed a virus, the virus scanner will block our access to it. This could cause the tracking to stop... (but in fact, it should just keep checking these files every few seconds, but not ignore other file movements). It is a very good pointer for us to investigate, though.

I confess, I never considered being denied acces to a file by a virus scanner. Of course this is a very valid possibility. We will enforce our investigations in this direction.

Once again, thanks a lot!

Best regards,
Martin
